Quick answer

Place an adult male and female of the same species in the same Barn or Coop, raise both to at least two hearts, leave one open animal slot, and give both the matching Heart Shaped Treat on the same day. The baby arrives four days later.

Get animals and prepare the building

Buy animals and Heart Shaped Treats from Hayden's Shop after the relevant Barn or Coop is available. Coop animals mature in three days and barn animals in five, and only adults with at least two hearts can breed.

Keep the intended pair in the same building. Breeding cannot start when the Barn or Coop is full because the baby needs an open slot.

Animal breeding requirements

The parents must be the same species and different sexes. Give each parent the species-appropriate Heart Shaped Treat on the same day; a stork icon in the Animals menu confirms that the pairing succeeded.

  1. 1

Choose an adult male and female of the same species.

  2. 2

Move both into the same Barn or Coop.

  3. 3

Raise both parents to at least two hearts.

  4. 4

Leave at least one empty slot in that building.

  5. 5

Give both parents their matching Heart Shaped Treat on the same day.

  6. 6

Check for the stork icon and wait four days.

How rare animal colors work

Breeding can unlock higher color tiers, but the baby's exact color is random within the available tier. Matching two visible parent colors does not combine them into a predictable third color.

Color rarity is cosmetic. It does not improve product quality or shorten production cycles. Hearts and ranching systems determine output, so choose rare colors for collection goals rather than profit calculations.

Why breeding did not start

Check adulthood, two-heart progress, species, sex, building assignment, free capacity, treat type, and whether both treats were given on the same day. The missing stork icon means at least one requirement was not met.

The offspring's gender and color are decided when the treats are accepted. Reloading after the birth animation is therefore not a reliable way to reroll the result.
