Quick answer
The complete unlock chain
Progress to the tablet around mine floor 60 and complete Breaking the Fire Seal. The reward path grants Dragon's Breath. Take that spell to the beach and use it on the hidden-cave entrance; inside, you receive the first Water Sprite Statue and the recipe needed to build more.
This is a mid-game automation system, not an early shop purchase. If a guide tells you to buy a normal sprinkler in town, it is using the wrong vocabulary for Fields of Mistria.
- 1
Reach the floor-60 mine tablet.
- 2
Complete Breaking the Fire Seal.
- 3
Obtain and equip Dragon's Breath.
- 4
Open the hidden beach cave with the spell.
- 5
Collect the first statue and recipe.
Crafting gates and operating cost
The base designs share 10 Cut Stone and 50 Essence, plus three design-specific special materials. The statue still consumes Essence Stones during use, so the recipe is not the entire cost of automation.
Big Water Sprite requires Woodcrafting 60. Stone Refinery access requires Town Renown 55 and completion of Repair the Inn. Plan these requirements alongside crop expansion; a giant field before the automation infrastructure is ready can create more daily work than profit.
5×5 and 7×7 field layouts
A normal statue has radius 2, producing a 5×5 square centered on the statue. The large statue has radius 3, producing a 7×7 square. Keep the center tile clear and avoid placing the edge of the square across paths, fences, or permanent objects.

| Statue | Radius | Footprint | Best use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Water Sprite | 2 | 5×5 | Compact or irregular farm blocks |
| Big Water Sprite | 3 | 7×7 | Large planned production plots |
